Chateau Latour-Martillac Grand Cru Classé
*Château Latour Martillac is named after the tower that adorns the main courtyard; this tower is part of a small fortress built in Martillac in the 12th century by the ancestors of the famous philosopher and winegrower Montesquieu.
A special feature in 1936, the 1934 Château Latour Martillac red wine was served at a banquet in honour of the coronation of His Majesty George VI King of England. The wine was aged for 18 months in oak barrels, 40% of which were new. The body turned out to be voluminous with pronounced tannins in the flavour and a light touch of oak in the harmonious aftertaste. The bouquet reveals aromas of cherry, blackcurrant and dark chocolate. Opening potential from 2018 to 2026. It is recommended to open the bottle at least one hour before serving.
