Arrowroot is a starch that is easily digestible and is derived from the rhizomes of the arrowroot plant. Arrowroot, which is flavorless and naturally gluten free, has very few calories (65 calories per 100gm) and is an excellent substitute for cornstarch in dessert recipes, cooking, and other applications.

Tips: To avoid the formation of "lumps," mix arrowroot powder with room temperature water before adding it to hot liquid.
To substitute cornstarch, use 2 teaspoons arrowroot powder for every 1 tablespoon cornstarch.
