Garlic powder works well in place of fresh garlic. 

It enhances the flavor of many sauces and dishes.  Half a teaspoon of garlic powder is equivalent to 1 teaspoon of fresh chopped garlic.  Use in place of fresh garlic in cooked foods, salad dressing and culinary oils. 

An easy appetizer - just spread cream cheese on bread and sprinkle some on it.
