Rare Cask is a luxurious, no-age single malt whiskey that joined Macallan's 1824 Masters Series in 2014. Initially, the whiskey was intended for the US market and then entered the global market. "The launch of Rare Cask represents an extremely exciting development for Macallan," said Ken Grier, director of malt at Edrington Group's. Created in the best McAllan traditions, Rar Kask whiskey demonstrates a unique combination of wood and distillate, creating a wide range of aromas. The maturation of the whiskey took place in oak barrels grown in the forests of northern Spain, in which the Oloroso sherry was aged for 18 months.
