Shao Hsing Hua Tiao Chiew is a well-known traditional speciality and the oldest brewed wine in China. Also known as Shaoxing Wine, it is brewed from pure grain and contains a low alcohol content. In Chinese medicine, it is used for “improving blood circulation, complexion and appetite”. In the kitchen, it is used as a flavouring and is said to “expel the fishy flavour” of seafood.
