Tasting Notes:  

The deep, purple-red colour is not quite opaque, the darkly pigmented colour holds well to the rim. The aromas are quite closed & brooding but show dark-plum fruit overlaid by cinnamon spice, meaty touches & graphite. The palate displays open, black-cherry fruit overlaid by graphite & supported by excellent acidity. The oak is very well integrated. The wine is of mid-weight & the very fine tannins are ripe & drying, but not astringent. The alcohol is balanced & the finish is long with graphite notes.

Tuna, mushrooms, pasta and a myriad of hard and soft cheeses.
