Tasting Notes: An intense carmine-red, this Montes Classic Series Merlot presents powerful aromatic complexity. It impresses from the start, first with its pool of aromas from contact with French oak. Notes of caramel (dulce de leche), jam, vanilla, and a bit of spice intermingle with ripe fruit recalling black plums, blackberries, and spices such as red pepper. The friendly, medium-bodied palate has very well-assembled tannins and nicely balanced acidity. The fruit and oak meld very well on the palate and linger on the long finish.

Varietal: 100% Malbec

Alcohol: 14.5%

Ageing: 45% of the wine is aged for 8 months in 1st French oak barrels.

Pairing: Highly recommended with chicken with mushroom sauce and sautéed potatoes, vegetable beef soup, Chilean tamales (humitas), and lasagna.
