60% Sauvignon Blanc and 40% Semillon. This is what it is; a classically racy, punchy Margaret River SBS built on exuberant fruit and freshness. The fruit for the Sauvignon Blanc Semillon is sourced from 10 separate Estate vineyard blocks. The vines are all planted on gravelly loam soils with different aspects and microclimates offering slightly different flavour profiles. The Sauvignon Blanc vineyards are planted mainly to Clone 1, which is perfect for this style of wine, offering crunchy lifted tropical fruit notes and flavours. The Semillon comes from 20-year-old vines in rooted in the North Block gravels and sees a small amount (13%) of barrel fermentation. This component supplies some texture to complement the wine's crunchy lime, lemongrass, grapefruit and herbal notes. The 2015 vintage has produced a classic expression of this quintessential Margaret River blend, showcasing a wonderful purity of fruit coupled with lovely texture and complexity; a perfectly balanced wine with a long, crisp dry finish, made to drink whilst young and fresh. This has a complex subtlety to it. Full body, dense and beautiful. Sliced apple, pear and lemon. Some grassy undertones. So much going on here.
