The Feudi Salentini winery was founded in 1994 in Leporano and is located in one of the most beautiful areas of Salento in Puglia, characterized by vineyards, and centuries-old olive trees and washed by a crystal sea. The production of wine here is supported by optimal climatic conditions, which are guaranteed by the gentle sea breeze that surrounds the coast. Alberello vines are still grown in the vineyards and the grapes are picked by hand as per tradition. Feudi Salentini produces the two most emblematic varieties of Apulia (Primitivo and Negramaro), but also white varieties that show excellent results, especially Verdeca and Malvasia. The 53 Old Vines Primitivo di Manduria collection is made from hand-selected grapes from old vineyards cultivated according to old family traditions. Vinification and maceration takes place at a controlled temperature of 26-28°C, and the wine is then aged for at least 14 months in French and American oak barrels. The resulting wine has a deep red colour with intense purple hues. The aroma is intense and reminiscent of jam from wild berries. In taste, the wine is round, warm and dense and perfectly expresses the terroir. It goes well with game, red meat and aged cheeses.
