Domaine Romy is located in the Beaujolais winegrowing area known as Les Pierres Dorées after the local golden ochre stone used the build the villages in the area. The appearance of these sun-kissed villages, surrounded by vines and perched at the high points of the hilly landscape, has also given the area its other nickname, by which it is usually known in tourism circles – Little Tuscany. Being within Beaujolais, the majority of plantings are Gamay, but the area has also been recognised for the aromatic complexity of its Pinot Noir.
