Ingredients

Water, Urad Dal (Black Gram Split) (18%), Tomato, Onion, Cottonseed Oil, Butter (Milk), Ginger, Garlic, Salt, Red Kidney Beans, Spices (Cumin, Coriander, Chilli, Black Pepper, Cassia, Cardamom, Bay Leaf).

Heat 100 ml water, and empty the contents into a pan. Heat & stir occasionally. Empty contents into a microwave bowl. Heat on high for 2-3 minutes. Stir & serve. Stir in blob of butter & garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves & fresh cream. Dal makhani lentils in butter would be the literal meaning of this dish black gram beans are cooked with lentils and tomatoes and blended into a thick buttery stew, cooked slowly to produce a perfect melting-in-the-mouth dish. Dal makhani is a popular dish in north India. Can be served with Indian bread like roti, and naan or also on a bed of hot steamed rice or cumin rice (jeera rice).
