The history of Martell begins around 1700, Jean Martell travelled to Paris to make a cognac from the best eau de vie. After he died in 1753, his wife took over her late husband's visions and implemented them. Rachel Martell ran the company very successfully, and the cognac quickly became known in America and England. Today Martell Cognac is a symbol of luxurious taste. The Martell V.S.O.P. Médaillon Old Fine Cognac bottle bears a medallion with the portrait of Louis XIV, which commemorates the year 1715, the birth of the House of Martell. This cognac is made from eaux-de-vie from the finest areas of the cognac region.
